The Ecology Club

For this CAS activity, my classmates and I decided to start an Ecology club in our school. We came to the conclusion of having this club because as a class we realized the problems that humans are causing and how it was and still is affecting the environment. One of my biggest problems in doing this activity was that we had to create posters and place it around the school to increase the awareness of the club and its purpose. The dilemma I had was that I had to create a poster which looked good but was not a conventional poster which most people don't pay attention to. This meant that I had to relate the poster to something that is popular or something which people like. So with great thinking, my friend and I decided to take Star Wars as the basis for the poster. With great thought, we came up with the quote  " I find your lack of Green Disturbing, Join the Eco club " with this set the biggest challenge was to draw and finish the poem. With a little help from my classmates, I was able to finish the chart and stick it up.

The activity taught me more of teamwork than ecology as a whole. I realized that with more help I can get work done faster, in this case with the poster, Because of my lack of artistic talent I took the opportunity to ask for help which in turn lead to more collaboration and lead to the turn up of more ideas. Though I found this activity hard as it required a lot of artwork I was able to overcome this with teamwork and I am excited to see what comes next with the eco club.


This activity prompted me to think and care beyond my immediate environment but much rather devise plans and think proactively to help and protect the environment around us. As an individual who has done little planting, this activity, and initiative  prompted me and pushed me to think and care for my environment
