South Indian Model United Nations chapter 2

Global geopolitics has always been a great interest of mine. I have been to countless MUNs and I could say that with each MUN I have learned something new. This MUN was the first time I had been given a middle - eastern country and been in a middle - eastern based committee. The committee that I had been given was the Arab league and the country I was given was Saudi Arabia. Our objective detailed the questionable re-entry of Syria into the league.

This MUN was a very different competition as I was not well - versed with the geopolitics of the middle- east. This gravely affected my performance on the first day as I was simply taking notes and trying to understand what everyone else was trying to say. I felt very much discouraged due to this. Later that day I managed to sit down and understand the interrelated politics in that region. With new knowledge and perspective, I was able to maneuver myself across the committee giving speeches which would showcase my country's ideals, this allowed me to win a Best Delegate award. 

Though I was very much happy with the award that I had received I was extremely happy with how I dealt with issues of understanding interrelated subjects at short notice. I feel that I should have done this work before but I wasn't able due to time constraints. I was happy how I was able to deal with issues under pressure.
